Adaptability: the Key for Future Embedded Systems
Speakers:

- Antonio Carlos S. Beck (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul)
Abstract: Heterogeneous embedded require high performance,
while facing the challenge of sensitiviness to fabrication defects and
energy efficiency. Adaptive behavior might be the solution for these
interrelated issues. Several dynamic techniques, such as binary
translation, core allocation in a MPSOC and reconfigurable systems are
reviewed, so that one can sustain binary compatibility and trade
performance by energy and/or fault tolerance. The tutorial discusses
how one can combine several techniques together, and how could they be
applied to future embedded systems.
