Abstract: Visual sensor networks are real-time distributed embedded systems that perform computer vision using multiple smart cameras. These networks serve as challenging platforms for innovative embedded systems research since visual data has to be processed in real-time using resource-limited distributed sensing and computing nodes. This half-day tutorial provides a unique opportunity to get introduced to the state-of-the-art and current trends in this research field.
