Grenoble's main airport is Lyon Saint-Exupéry International Airport
(internation code LYS).
There are several options to travel to and from the Lyon
Saint-Exupéry airport. The easiest and cheapest is by bus (1
hour and 5 minutes, 20 euros one way, here is the time table), which arrives directly at Grenoble's
railway station.
Taking a taxi from the airport to Grenoble's railway station
costs around 120 euros; this trip should take around 1 hour
depending on traffic. More details here about car rentals and taxis.
It is also possible to arrive to Grenoble by train with SNCF,
which has train services from all the major cities in France and in
Europe. The conference center and Novotel hotel are just at two
minutes walking distance from Grenoble's railway station.

Grenoble is a city easy to walk in. Furthermore, it is equipped
with a very efficient and reliable bus and tramway network, which
operates until 1am in the morning (only for the tramway).
Visa Information
Citizens of some countries may need a visa to attend
ESWEEK 2009 in France. The French Ministry for Foreign Affairs has an
official
website for visas). If you do need a visa, please plan to apply
early, since the process can often take several months.
Attendees that need an invitation letter to obtain a
visa please fill out this form (pdf or
doc) and email it to Ahmed Jerraya with the subject
line "ESWEEK 2009 visa invitation letter request".
Due to the expected volume of email requests, please
note the following:
Ensure that your email request subject line contains the
keywords "ESWEEK 2009 visa invitation letter request".
By default a scanned (signed) letter of invitation will be sent
via email.
Any requests for express/courier delivery of a signed
hardcopy invitation letter will require special attention; please
arrange for prepaid express/courier delivery since these costs will
have to be borne by the requestor.
